Metro Fare Going Up!

But not that much. Metro fares will rise for the first time in 8 years by one peso, from 2 pesos to 3 pesos (that’s about 8 cents US per ticket). The metro is an amazing system and serves the city well, so I don’t think that anybody is complaining.

According to the national Secretariat of Health, to date there have been 35,838 cases of the human influenza virus H1N1 in Mexico, 245 of which have been fatal. The secretariat is pretty calm about rising cases now, however, having been around the block once with the flu.
